Keeping clients in the loop is another important aspect of project management. The creators of www.myclientspot.com have considered this point. Their simple program allows for the client and the project team to view upcoming schedules, project status, hours worked, file sharing, calendar sharing, and collaboration with sub-contractors all on one site. However, This is a costly endeavor. There are better sites that are free.
Changes within the project are a common occurrence. The creators at www.jumptree.com have captured this theory. With projects stats and accountability sections, nothing goes undetected. It allows for top management of any task ,at any level.

Our latest adventure has been creating a wiki site for our classmates. We choose www.wetpaint.com for this assignment. It's fun, easy and free.
The advanatges of this site are really quite simple, It's collaboration at it's greatest. You start a free acount, invite your collegues and start setting it up. (we've already done that step for you, Now it's up to you to except the invite and state your thoughts)
A little back ground for our classmates currently in English. As defined by the wikipedia "A wiki is a collection of web pages designed to enable anyone who accesses it to contribute or modify content, using a simplified markup language.[1][2] Wikis are often used to create collaborative websites and to power community websites".
This allows everyone to create and collaborate on equal footing. Don't be scared of all the new words or concepts, they are the way of the future and everyone needs to know them and how to use them.
A few more definitions:
TAGS: Help link pages together, They are the Keywords used when searching.
Widgets: "A widget is anything that can be embedded within a page"

I started a small project to set up and design an interactive site for automotive technology. Using this program allows you to manage the project, make detailed task list, set time variables, invoices per project or contractor, bring in the client and coworker's for collaborations. All on a private site. This application is really designed for small businesses, but I am finding it very useful in my personal life and within my department.
This site offers a ton of creative solutions divided into groups. Project Manager, Time Manager,Task Manager, Notes Manager, Contact Manager and Invoice Manager. They are all very detailed and easy to use.
One of the greatest features is its accessability. You can manage your project from anywhere, with any mobile device. Truly great technology.
Keeping accurate records and being organized with the client are just bonuses with this software.

Uphone allows the user to blog via their phone and set up the look of their mobile blog.Throughout this research period, I have learned that everything eventually comes full circle. With that theory in mind I found www.projjex.com. not only does this site allow for collaboration, it focuses on key aspects of databases and brings together project management .
This application works off of your browser and can be sent to many mobile devices. Since it is all web based no need to download all the documents. Look at all the space that saves! It works off of a dashboard that sends emails and reminders. One great concept about this program is the easy to follow setup and fairly reasonable.
Contains to-do lists, notes, documents, files, time management, cost and even minutes and meeting data. You can add anyone you want for free which makes it ideal for globe trotting business professionals. With projjexs filters it is a snap to compile and sort data and docs.
This program works. Try it for free and decide.

I have began working with www.basecamphq.com it provides a wide array of collaboration tools for both internal and external projects. The i-cal( a calender for any organization freak) allows for your schedule to be posted and anyone needing to set up a time to accept a spot. This is an invitation site that allows file sharing, time tracking, to do lists and it is all ran off of the dashboard. One can coordinate schedules with all team members, keep track of data when your out of the office, advise and communicate with contractors and consultants. Create workshops and seminars.
This tool seems to be broad based. It offers programs for Ad agencies, architects, web designers, publishers & authors, study groups, associations, real estate agents, accountants, project management. You get the drift. Anyone you can think of can benefit from basecamp.
There are two options when you set up a project, active or archived. Once a project is achieved you can no longer edit it. Another great feature is the SSL or the Secure Socket Layer. Simply put any data sent from your computer to basecamp is encrypted for your businesses private needs. This site allows 50 GB of space for files, and you can have unlimited clients and users. Total aggregate time is another outstanding feature that allows you to run reports in any area.
They offer a free 30 day trial as long as you subscribe to one of the three packages ranging from $49 - $149. This includes a free real-time chat tool for businesses. It is kind of like IM but in a business setting. So basically you are getting a two for one deal.
